Low Standard Price
At 214bankruptcy.com, all of our standard Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases cost the same low price: $1999. Even better, you can get a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case started for only $500. Those are pretty good deals.
Unlike most lawyers, we’re not going to tell you “it depends.” We tell you up front how much your case is going to cost and we don’t wait to set the price until after we find out the maximum you’re willing to pay.
Free In-Person Consultations
To come in and talk to us about your situation is free. That part is pretty standard with all bankruptcy law firms in the Dallas / Fort Worth area of Texas.
We go over where you are, how you got to this point, what you own, what you owe, etc. Then we’ll make some recommendations for you and you leave. We’re not planning for you to sign up right then and there and we won’t pressure you or give you the hard sell.
No Pressure
You take as long as you like to think it over and decide if it’s what you want to do. If so, just shoot us an email or give us a call and let us know. We’ll start your case immediately.
Compare Our Price
Our bankruptcy fees are the lowest we know of in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. Our fee of $1999 is much lower than the standard $2,200 fee for a Chapter 7 and $3,000 for a Chapter 13.
There are only a very few lawyers out there who will tell you the fee without first making you come in and meet. If you’ve already called around, you’ve seen that for yourself. We don’t know why most can’t or won’t give you a straight up quote but of the few that will, we don’t think any of them are close to being as affordable as ours. In fact, if you find one that is please let us know.
Extras
The prices on this page don’t include the “court filing fees” that the government charges you when filing bankruptcy but those don’t vary depending on who your lawyer is.
There are, however, lots of other small amounts that are expended in the course of a bankruptcy case in addition to the court filing fee and the attorney fees. Credit counseling certificates, credit reports, financial management certifications, postage, etc, all cost money and can easily add $200-$300 to the base cost of your case.
The common practice is to charge you those amounts separately, on top of what you’re already paying in attorney fees. At 214bankruptcy.com, we don’t charge extra for those small items- they are already included in the base fee.
We charge $500 to start a chapter 13 and we charge $1999 to do a chapter 7. Those prices include everything except the court’s fee (which is $281 for a Chapter 13 and $306 for a Chapter 7 as of November 2011). We won’t charge you extra for the credit counseling certificate, or for the required credit reports, or for postage, or for mileage, or long distance calls, or parking, or anything else. And you can make payments.
Payment Plans
The whole amount does not have to be paid all at once. You can hire us for as little as $100 and then pay the balance of the fee ($1999 for Chapter 7 and $500 to get a Chapter 13 started) and the court filing fee over time, as you are able. Most people pay monthly, but we’re flexible. If you want us to send you invoices as a reminder, we will. If you don’t want us to, we won’t. Hurry and pay if the case is an emergency, take your time if it’s not.
Ending Harassment
Why pay us money now when you won’t be having the case filed until later? Because debt collectors are required by law to stop calling you and sending you letters as soon as you’ve hired an attorney. Your bankruptcy case won’t be finalized yet but all the harassment you’re putting up with will cease, giving you some breathing space while you put together the rest of the fee we need to finalize your filing.
I have an urgent request to be contacted immediately regarding filing for a Chapter 13.
I filed for a personal, as well as a business Chapter 7 on 12-30-2008. The business Chapter 7 went through, the personal Chapter 7 was dismissed.
The major creditor is suing me and I need to file for a Chapter 13. Trial date is scheduled for this Monday, Sept 13th.
Would someone from your office contact me as soon as possible please, preferrably tomorrow morning, Thursday?
Great post!
I need to retain you ASAP. I have a lot of medical expenses ($20,000+) and this morning a company said they were going to sue me. Please help me. I don’t have much money. I get a monthly check from a divorce settlement from my ex-husband Pension Plan, but most of it goes for medical expenses and the basic living expenses. I can pay you monthly payments but I need to retain you as my bankruptcy attorney NOW.
Thanks – Debra
We are in dire need to file Chapter 13 or chp 11 Bankruptcy before the end of this month. We have received quotes of $500 dow for the attorney & 300 for filimg fees and other amounts for reports and classes. Please advise as we are trying desperately to keep our home and my husband just went back to work hopefully we can file tomorrow.
Thanks for you assistance in resolving this matter.
Paula, I don’t do it the same as the other guys. The extra parts that you need in order to file Chapter 13 are not priced separately with my firm. Instead, they’re already included. In other words, I’m paying for them out of my pocket and you are getting them for free.
However, I do NOT want you to select me to handle your case because I am the “cheapest.”
We’ll file your case and we’ll save you home of course. In fact, I’ll give you a written guarantee on that. There is no other attorney in town that will give you one of those, regardless of his price.
But it goes deeper than that. With my firm, you’re going to get a pre-filing evaluation to figure out just exactly what went wrong, as well as an overall financial assessment that ensures that you’re primed for financial success going forward.
Plus, once your case is successfully over then you’ll be entitled to my Credit Repair services. We’ll sit down and go line-by-line through your credit report. We’ll be looking for items that we can change using the power of some laws that aren’t even part of the regular bankruptcy code.
Nobody else offers that one, either.
As you can see, it’s not a straight apples-to-apples comparison. Not only are all of my fees on the website so everyone can see them ahead of time, and not only do I put a copy of all the agreements out there for the world to see (they’re linked from this page if you’d like a copy), but I’ve included everything you need to save the house, rehabilitate your credit score, and get pointed toward financial success…
… All in writing, and all for the price you’d pay someone else for just a simple bankruptcy filing.
Now understand, we only take 20 clients per month. With all of this extra service and the free bonuses we provide, there’s just not enough manpower to personally handle more than 20 of these.
If you’re ready to be one of my 20 clients, give us a call at (214) 740-1160. Press Extension “1″ to be connected to Allison, who keeps our calendar. She’ll find an open spot for you. Please don’t wait too long though, our spots will fill up at some point and we’ll stop taking new clients into our program. You can be first in line for next month but we won’t be able to get you in for the current month.
And if you have questions for us in the meantime, please email them over and I’ll be happy to answer them for you.
PS– Whoever said you need a Chapter 11 is probably wrong. A Chapter 11 is typically going to be $10,000 down and $300/hour. I’m currently doing a little work on the one for the Texas Rangers but it would be overkill to sell you a Chapter 11 just to stop your foreclosure…
