Low Standard Price
At 214bankruptcy.com, all of our standard bankruptcy cases cost the same low price: $1500. That's a pretty good deal.
Unlike most lawyers, we're not going to tell you "it depends." We tell you up front how much your case is going to cost and we don't wait to set the price until after we find out the maximum you're willing to pay.
Free In-Person Consultations
To come in and talk to us about your situation is free. That part is pretty standard with all bankruptcy law firms in the Dallas / Fort Worth area of Texas.
We go over where you are, how you got to this point, what you own, what you owe, etc. Then we'll make some recommendations for you and you leave. We're not planning for you to sign up right then and there and we won't pressure you or give you the hard sell.
No Pressure
You take as long as you like to think it over and decide if it's what you want to do. If so, just shoot us an email or give us a call and let us know. We'll start your case immediately.
Compare Our Price
Our bankruptcy fees are the lowest we know of in the Metroplex. Our fee of $1,500 is much lower than the standard $2,000 fee for a Chapter 7 and $3,000 for a Chapter 13.
There are only a very few lawyers out there who will tell you the fee without first making you come in and meet. If you've already called around, you've seen that for yourself. We don't know why most can't or won't give you a straight up quote but of the few that will, we don't think any of them are close to being as affordable as ours. In fact, if you find one that is please let us know.
Extras
The prices on this page don't include the "court filing fees" that the government charges you when filing bankruptcy but those don't vary depending on who your lawyer is.
There are, however, lots of other small amounts that are expended in the course of a bankruptcy case in addition to the court filing fee and the attorney fees. Credit counseling certificates, credit reports, financial management certifications, postage, etc, all cost money and can easily add $200-$300 to the base cost of your case.
The common practice is to charge you those amounts separately, on top of what you're already paying in attorney fees. At 214bankruptcy.com, we don't charge extra for those small items- they are already included in the base fee.
We charge $1500 to do a chapter 13 and we charge $1500 to do a chapter 7. Those prices include everything except the court's fee (which is $274 for a Chapter 13 and $299 for a Chapter 7 as of August 2007). We won't charge you extra for the credit counseling certificate, or for the required credit reports, or for postage, or for mileage, or long distance calls, or parking, or anything else. And you can make payments.
Payment Plans
The whole $1500 does not have to be paid up front. You can hire us for as little as $100 and then pay the balance of the $1500 and the court filing fee over time, as you are able. Most people pay monthly, but we're flexible. If you want us to send you invoices as a reminder, we will. If you don't want us to, we won't.
Ending Harassment
Why pay us money now when you won't be finalizing everything until later? Because debt collectors are required by law to stop calling you and sending you letters as soon as you've hired an attorney. Your bankruptcy case won't be finalized yet but all the harassment you're putting up with will cease, giving you some breathing space while you put together everything we need to finalize your filing.
